We decided to write this blog as a way of sharing some of our stories from past experiences fishing, tying flies, guiding, and traveling. Most of which are completely 100% true except for the names of people, some stories are slightly embellished and some are mostly made up. It's really for you to figure it out and for us to have some fun writing down some of the truly good memories we have had while immersed in fly fishing.

"Treat" of the Week

Basically when most anglers hear that I guided in Alaska I always get "Ohh man tough life" or "that must really suck to be you huh, guiding in Alaska..." So I decided to bring to light some of the less desirable aspects of being a guide, as a way to show the other side of guiding in a destination location. My favorite example of this a couple of summers back we brought in a new guide, let's call him Frank. Frank's treat was that it was his first week guiding with me and I gave him what appeared to be the less desirable group, turned out I made one hell of a good choice. His very first day with clients the guy he took out does a nose dive in the river and fills up with water. So with no other choice Frank drags the waterlogged guy back up on the bank and starts taking off the poor mans waders. (The whole time mind you his wife is still fishing and yelling back, "leave him, he'll be fine") obviously this wasn't the case or he wouldn't have almost drowned in 8 inches of water. Long story short as Frank's undressing his client, he takes off the soaking wet sweat pants and he realizes the man is wearing an adult diaper...AND he has evacuated his bowels.. Talk about a great first day on the Copper River!
