We decided to write this blog as a way of sharing some of our stories from past experiences fishing, tying flies, guiding, and traveling. Most of which are completely 100% true except for the names of people, some stories are slightly embellished and some are mostly made up. It's really for you to figure it out and for us to have some fun writing down some of the truly good memories we have had while immersed in fly fishing.

Fly of the Week

Blue Wing Olive Sparkle Dun

http://www.riverbum.com/Blue-Winged-Olive-Sparkle-Dun-SlateOlive/
The Blue Wing Olives have been coming off like crazy on Spring Creek lately. The fish are sucking them down like I did beers back in college. The hatch has been short but sweet, lasting at most three hours, noon- about three. But, when they are on the BWO's they aren't eating anything else. This pattern is a little easier to see, and the comparadun patterns have out fished the other BWO's as well.

Recipe:

Hook-TMC 100 size 18-22
Thread- Uni Olive 6/0
Wing- Deer Hair or CDC
Tail- Sparse sparkle poly yarn or Z-lon
Body- Beaver Dubbing - Blue Wing Olive

Trout that fell to the BWO Sparkle Dun
